As some of you may know, SW Missouri Mule has been having some "issues" with a certain squirrel that has not only taken food, but also come uninvited to her house. "The little rascals can be entertaining until they're not," she said. That's for sure.
Well for a bit of a change of pace, I offer this wooden squirrel who actually works FOR you in the kitchen, pushing and pulling your oven rack so you don't burn your fingers or scorch your oven mitt.
Attached are a photo plus a scanned outline of the shape to use as a pattern for your own copies. Feel free to print out the scan, sized to scale up to the marked measurements, and you're good to go. Finished size is 10 and 3/4 inches long, and about 3 inches wide. Locate any scrap wood, pine will do, trace outline and cut out wood on jigsaw, stain as you wish, drive in a brad for the eye, drill a 1/2 inch hole in the tail tip to hang it by -- and that is pretty much it.
