A few weeks ago Miss Minnie reviewed the absolutely wonderful Witch's Tea House menu for the Halloween holiday, and ever since it appeared, the excitement has been building. Everywhere I go now, people buttonhole me: Will they offer a Thanksgiving menu? Do I have to make reservations?
Well, Miss Minnie is pleased to assure her readers that yes, yes, YES the Witch's Tea House will offer a fabulous holiday buffet. In addition, private parties will be able to rent dining rooms for parties of any size, where they will be served by magical means only. Floating musicians will entertain diners with a lovely selection of classical tunes.
Perusing an advance copy of the buffet menu reveals traditional dishes from many corners of the globe, some never before sampled by this reviewer. Transylvanian Turkey, for example, is described as lovingly turned on a spit over applewood flames, basted with homemade butterbeer, and served with Hungarian pilaf dotted with frog toes and plums.
New England (Salem-style) Ham glows with cranberry glaze and cloud rings, and is magically “burned at the stake” at a carving table at one end of the buffet. Moravian Marinated Moose Steaks will be offered as well; they are flavored with whiskey and white truffles, spiked with jackalope ribs for an extra dose of exotic flavor.
Virginia Venison, a real treat, is dotted with cranberries, gooseberries and Bott's Every Flavor Beans and served with newt potatoes.
The vegetable and dessert offerings are similarly awesome. I am reluctant to reveal too many details because a good menu should provide some surprises for the diner, but trust me, this menu is a masterpiece! I cannot wait to try out the Frog Souffle and the Huckleberry-Cabbage Pie. You are only cheating yourself if you dine anywhere else so make your reservation ASAP – by phone or by owl, whatever works for you.
Valet parking is offered for autos, carriages, and brooms. They think of everything!
