Dear Y'all,

As I may have mentioned on a couple of threads, I recently (beginning of July) started a new part-time position. It's a good news / bad news kind of thing. This has been stressful not just because the computer was down for much of the first 2 weeks, but because I am really not suited for the job. I can do some of the tasks pretty well, but the primary task involves using the phone -- Due to a hearing loss I will never be very good at that part, and it will always stress me. Even with a hearing aid and even with the volume turned up as far as it will go.

The stress is currently getting the blame for a widespread skin rash on hands, arms and other areas. I know it is not the trial size of a new detergent that is the culprit, because it started before using the free trial on a load of laundry. At least I don't have to redo all that laundry!

I am also losing sleep this week in a major way. Insomnia has been a recurring problem, and now it is back.

I don't think I have to really worry about losing the job -- it's one of those government program things and this is supposed to be a training position. Still, it is such a disappointment. I feel angry that the job was mis-represented to me or to the placement person.

So anyway, am trying all sorts of treatments for the skin. Changed back to a hypo-allergenic bar soap --hoping that helps. And yes I know that my problem is far less serious than the challenges being faced by some others Viners in recent weeks or months, to wit -- see below.

Maddad -- illness, missing some time on the Vine -- but coping and not complaining...

gen -- illness, has reappeared tho is not 100 percent yet.

58rose -- has chronicled his saga of the wonky foot and then his low WBC count.

Also tzia -- just got out of hospital with a suspected case of pneumonia; not sure of diagnosis it seems.

Phuggy -- nerve problem with left hip and leg is acting up.

Lone Ranger -- cracked scapula (shoulder blade). Will need surgery.

Also, G M Ross recently lost his father and he has been taking care of settling matters.

AND: Vlad's Dog -- Acute sinusitis, walking into walls. Now that has to stop, dear Vlad.
